Below are four photos of a Lyon and Lyon .470 nitro express double rifle. This fine rifle just came into my hands. A
friend in Arkansas was to buy it from the prior owner but he must have had buyer's remorse and stopped all communication on
the deal. So, I bought it, will play with it for a while, and offer it up for sale. Features are: 24-inch barrels, weight
a bit over 10 pounds, non auto safety, sling eyes, Deeley forend latch, extractors, near mint bores(!), three leaf sight set
on quarter rib, and Silver's pad. Barrels most likely reblued. This rifle is what one thinks of when dreaming of Africa or
India and going on safari with a fine double rifle. Birmingham proofs. Comes with 45 rounds brass. ***SOLD***
Below are a pair of photos of my EM Reilly .500 bpe double rifle. She is a best quality, fully engraved,
three leaf rear sight, 28-inch barrels, near perfect bores, weighs a bit under 9 pounds, exposed hammer, Jones patent
under lever, wedge forend fastener. Date of production would be about 1880.***SOLD***
Lyon and Lyon "Jungle Gun"12-bore side lock ball and shot gun. 30" barrels choked
improved cylinder and improved modified. Prince of Wales grip, recoil pad, nice walnut, bead front sight and two leaf folding
rear sights when shooting ball. Weight a bit over 7 pounds. The coolest thing about this gun is the accuracy with Fiocchi
slugs--about 1" group at 50 yards all day long. Folks at my home who have shot it are amazed at its accuracy! Also, it is
a side lock--most are box locks. Two triggers, doll's head. I do have some ammo but it is not worth while to ship the ammo
out of state--it's a 200 mile rt to the FEDEX office, the paperwork fee, and it must go out overnight express. That equates
to 150+$ for a few boxes of ammo--not worth it. One note: there is a very slight--read VERY slight bulge at the left muzzle.
I imagine some nitwit shot a heavy slug load through it. The bulge is not easily visible but it is there and does not affect
accuracy. Gun has a canvas case. PS. I can deliver the ammo to the lower 48 if I drive out for the winter and it's about 90%
I will. I will post more photos and a slug target soon. *** SOLD***
Below is a John Graham of Scotland .450 3 1/4" bpe double
rifle. 28-inch barrels, Jones under lever, rebounding hammers, three leaf rear sight, bead front, metal butt plate. Very good
bores and VERY accurate. Will have more details, target, and price soon. ***SOLD***
Below is a Robert Hughes 4-bore double. 28" steel barrels, 4" chambers, 22 pounds, fully rifled. Owned by Maynard Buehler
in the post war years it was advertised in the December 1959 issue of the American Rifleman as "The World's Most Powerful
Rifle" shooting a 2400-grain bullet ahead of 550 grains of black powder. Stretching the truth is an understatement! This rifle
is very accurate with ball and conical, both FFg GOEX and Blue Dot. This rifle is not cheap. The last two sold for well over
100K. If you are interested, call and we'll chat.
Below is the only photo I have of my John Wilkes .475 no2 best quality double. They
don't get any better than this! Absolutely perfect inside and out and with a bit of history, too. Used by Ray Meyer on a 1952
safari in Kenya that was guided by Patrick Hemingway. Boxlock ejector, 26-inch barrels, 10 1/2 pounds, fully engraved, three
leaf rear sight. ***SOLD***
Alex Henry 8-bore (below) 8-bore best quality double rifle from 1883. One of a pair with the other identical in all aspects
except a 10-bore and two pounds lighter in weight. (Yes, I have searched for 10 years for the ten). This unique rifle has
90% original case colors, rare 23-inch barrels, and the rear sight set to the breech as per the instructions of the original
owner, J.L. Laird MacKenzie Esq. Fully engraved in fine scroll that was characteristic of the era and Henry. ***SOLD***

You won't find one of these anywhere for any price! Below is my Jeffery .600 nitro express single shot. Jeffery had a
batch of six single shots, all identical, made about 1914, with consecutive serial numbers. These six sold over the next few
years and then Jeffery made one additional and that was it. I incorrectly wrote "made" but Jeffery did not make much of anything.
Other makers produced rifles and shotguns over time and serial number blocks with the Jeffery name. How rare is she? Well,
in all of my research I found only two of the 33 singles sold by Jeffery (also were 37 doubles). Since my book on the .600s
was published I have found an additional 40+ vintage .600s but they are all doubles. Where have the single shots gone? Your
guess is as good as mine. The bore is near perfect but there is some pitting on the exterior of the action due to poor storage.
I sent the rifle to Griffin and Howe to remove the pitting but G&H suggested I leave as is. Comes with brass, dies and
900-grain cast bullets. Again, you will never see another. If you are a single shot man, call me! ***SOLD***
Time for a complete set of the Double Gun Journals to go. Every issue, excellent
condition, including the two index and readers. DGJ sells the complete set, many of the issues are "blemished" for about 1300$.

Below is a German rifle in .270 WCF I picked up two weeks
ago at a gun show in a complex trade. Since it has only one barrel I will offer it for sale. It came in a trade with some
money and three firearms and to make the trade I took the .270. It is accurate!! The scope is a B. Nickel 2-6x, has jeweled
bolt and other hardware, super stock carving with three ivory diamond inlays, two leaf rear sight for 100 and 200 yards, and
the scope is set on quality claw mounts. If I can scan a target I will do so and place it here. (Target was just placed).
The maker's name in stamped on the stock behind the pistol grip: A. Reich. I can't make out the name of the city but it is
----stadt. Bore is excellent. This one has to go via FFL. ***SOLD***
Below is a very rare Winchester rifle. It is the extra light
weight Model 1886. This rifle chambers the much sought after .45-70 cartridge (.33s are the common chambering) and is a deluxe
model. Most rare is the pencil thin barrel. The bore is excellent, wood has super grain with the correct pistol grip, and
a 22-inch barrel with sling eyes. Receiver finish has faded but barrel blue is nearly all there. If this rifle was a minty
rifle the price would be in the high teens to 20K$. Don't pass on this extra light deluxe .45-70. ****SOLD****
Below you see an Manton 8-bore single shot shotgun with an exposed hammer and a Jones under lever. The barrel is 36"
long, the weight is 10 pounds and 13 ounces, and the barrel is steel. She is nitro proofed for 3 1/4 tons with a true 8-bore
of .835" (the proof is the same as on the Henry above). The hammer is rebounding. Condition is excellent as refinished and
the bore is excellent--not but perfect. I have brass cases and wads to go with the sale. ***SOLD***
A huge 4-bore single shotgun by Consolidated Stores Ltd is below. The barrel is 42 1/2" long, the weight is 15 pounds
and 6 ounces, and the barrel is Damascus. The hole in the buttstock is for a lanyard rope and is common on many of the shotguns
used in boats for waterfowl. The hammer is rebounding with the Jones under lever. Condition is excellent as refinished. The
bore is rough and will be honed and kept in proof. Engraved "Civil Service" on top of barrel. Some pits under forend--common
on guns used around salt water. Some proud metal is around the top strap but not too bad. 4-bore single shots are far more
rare than double 4s but the price is far less. If you want a 4 (and they only come up for sale every several years) call me
and put your name on this one. The chambers are 4 inches long and I have 12 empty English shells and several bags of wads
to go, too--spacer and over powder wads. I would guess this gun is from the early 1890s. ***SOLD***
Below are two photos of a PA Watson and Williams and Powell 10-gauge double shotgun
from the mid-1890s. The barrels are 30 inches long and choked modified and full. Don't let the Damascus barrels fool you into
thinking it is not shootable. I took a turkey in 2008 in the People's Republic of Massachusetts and have several boxes of
old Winchester and Remington 2 7/8" shells with 1 5/8 and 1/7/8 ounces of shot and she shoots them well. The interesting thing
about this rather plain shotgun is she was built on a frame for 8-gauge and is nearly 3" across the face. And, here is an
idea for you: why not make this into an 8-bore rifle? Take a pair of 8-bore tubes and have them sleeved into the monoblock.
Use the ribs and front bead, add a rear wide V backsight, and you have an English 8 for well under 10K. ***SOLD***
These are the last of my Winchester stuff. You see here an original set of loading tool and mould for the very rare .50-95
express for the model 1876. Included is the correct reproduction hollow point pin where the pin pivots on a screw that is
through the folded sheet metal handle. I had this pair and a .50-110 mould for sale and held it for a fella in Wisconsin.
I was two days from leaving on vacation and could not take a deposit but he assured me he wanted all three. Upon my return
home, this clown would not take my calls. Buyer's remorse, I guess. I sold the .50-110 mould and have this set for sale. Look
at how rare these are and how often they come up for sale. When I was into Winchesters I looked for and bought several sets
over two decades--both the '76 and '86 express rifles. This is all I have left and kept them is a case for a deluxe '76 .50
caliber. Yes, I regret selling it. The mould cavity has no pits. ***SOLD***
A Colt Officer's Model .38 Special revolver is below. Target sights and a very rare 5-inch barrel. Most of these handguns
had 6" or 7 1/2" barrels. 4- + 5-inch barrels are rarely seen. This revolver was my grandfather's brother-in-law's sidearm
when he was a police officer in Massachusetts in the 1930-40s. It has been in my family since new and comes with his Lawrence
holster. There is some blue wear on the metal between the grips but, as you can see, the blue is near perfect. This .38 must
go to an FFL and I have to drive 200 miles (rt) to the FEDEX office to ship it so we have to arrange a convenient time to
get it off to you. ***SOLD***.
Yes, it's my cabin. In 2011 I will list my cabin with a realtor but will put it on my site to stir up any interest. Have
any of you thought of living in Alaska? If you can live with the cold and dark winters the benefits will out weigh the winter.
No state sales tax. No state income tax. No property tax for the first 150K of value if you are over 65. A state dividend
check from the oil money. In 2008 every man, woman, and child received 3250$ (oil was high that year). Last year it
was about $1500 as oil declined in price. If you fish (I, for one, do not) I am near the Susitna, Talkeetna, and Deshka Rivers,
and several small streams (Willow, Sheep, Montana, Kashwitna, and Caswell Creeks) for salmon and steelhead. If you hunt and
are a resident of the state let me tell you what you can hunt on a $25 license. If you move around the state's game management
units you can take: one each of a moose, sheep, goat, elk, and one by permit for a muskox and bison. Up to two grizzly bears,
three black bears, five deer, ten wolves, one wolverine, and unlimited caribou. In my area are moose, grizzly/brown bears,
black bears, fox, rabbits, wolves, sand hill cranes, grouse, beaver, otter, ptarmagin. Caribou and sheep in the hills to the
east.
Now, to the house. It has a small footprint of 20x30-feet but with a full basement with
8' walls and a half loft with a high ceiling there is 1500 square feet of useable space. The basement has a full bath, wood
stove, oil stove, and space for a bedroom with a to-code window. I also reload and have a small gym in the basement. The first
floor has a second full bath (with a 22" deep soaker tub with jets) a bedroom, kitchen, and living room. The loft is an open
300 square feet. Pine board floors and pine t&g interior walls. The cabin was built to code so bank financing is fine.
Owner financing is a possibility with a substantial down. The cabin is on 7 1/2 acres but taxed on 6 acres as the Alaska
Railroad has a right-of-way on the eastern 1.5 acres. I'm on the grid with my well (40 gallons per minute) and septic. Electric
bills run about $50 per month and the phone and computer line is $75. Taxes run about 2K a year. Taxes jumped last year as
a new fire station nearby is in the plans so the borough must raise some funds.
I plan to live more
remote and travel now that I'm retired and in my golden years so I will sell this log home. Call if you are interested. Off
